Upper School

The Upper School consists of Prep 3, Prep 4, Prep 5 & Prep 6. At the end of Prep 6 the children take their Key Stage 2 SATs. We can safely say that our results are outstanding and we are particularly proud of the excellent academic record we have achieved over the past number of years.

The children are form based with a class teacher. They study Literacy, Numeracy, Science, RE, French, Geography, History, ICT, Art & DT, Music, PE and PSHE. Music and PE are taught by specialists but we also use each individual teacher’s expertise to strengthen each area of the curriculum.
National Curriculum is followed but we enrich the curriculum and teach the children to work at levels well beyond the national expectation. The values of self-discipline and independent learning are encouraged and are part of the ethos we treasure. Children are pleased to share in each other’s success and we reward both attainment and effort at every opportunity.

By aiming high and by raising the children’s expectations we achieve good standards in a happy environment. Although we welcome new initiatives and embrace modern technology, we strive to retain those values such as pride in presentation, good spelling and handwriting, and developing a quick mathematical brain through learning times tables.
