Catholic Ethos

Catholic Ethos

Our Catholic ethos is at the heart of everything we do at Notre Dame Preparatory School, supported by our Governing Body, our Chaplain, and our relationship with St John's Cathedral and the Diocese.

Catholic Life at Notre Dame Prep

At Notre Dame Prep School we welcome children and their families from all religious and cultural backgrounds; it is one of the reasons why our school is so special!

Our Catholic ethos runs through everything we do; and our older children have the opportunity to experience this through visits to St John's Cathedral; whether to attend Mass or for events throughout the year such as our Carol Service, Easter Concert and Prizegiving.

Mass is celebrated in school too, which is a super opportunity for our whole school to come together and experience a service in familiar surroundings.

We place great importance on love, forgiveness and acceptance and we encourage relationships based on trust, kindness and respect for others.

Curriculum

Religious Education is an important part of our school curriculum. We use the latest version of the Catholic RE Curriculum (Religious Education Curriculum Directory, 2023) and we embrace the learning and discussion provided by those in the Catholic community and those with other faiths.

Notre Dame Prep School is a member of the Catholic Independent Schools' Conference (CISC).

As a Roman Catholic school we endeavour to nurture a love of God through Jesus Christ in all our children. The school has an ethos of love and care and embraces children of all faiths or none.

Children are treated as individuals, respected, nurtured and encouraged to embrace and fulfil their potential in all areas of school life.

We foster positive relationships with peers and adults, looking for mutual respect.
