Personal, Social, Health and Relationships Education

Wellbeing & citizenship at the heart of the curriculum

Personal, Social, Health and Relationships Education is an important part of the Curriculum at Notre Dame Prep School. In these lessons, the children will develop important knowledge, skills and attributes they will need to support their own and others' wellbeing, and will help them to become successful and happy adults who contribute positively to society.

PSHRE helps children to stay safe, and healthy and prepares them for living in the wider world. Our aim is to foster pupil wellbeing and develop resilience and character which we know to be fundamental to pupils becoming happy, successful and productive members of society. Central to this is instilling the self-belief to achieve goals and to recover from challenges. This is complemented by a focus on developing kindness, integrity, generosity and honesty in our school community.

Our curriculum works alongside our assemblies, charitable fundraising and whole school worship. In addition to this, a termly PSHRE Newsletter is sent to all NDPS families with information about the topics which will be covered in that term, with some suggestions of conversations to have at home and books which support these topics.
