We believe that Physical Education is an essential part of each child’s education. Here at Notre Dame Preparatory School, our aim is for every child to enjoy and be successful in sport. Through this success we can promote health, wellbeing, confidence, teamwork and social skills. All children have a minimum of two PE lessons per week and all children from Pre-Prep upwards have timetables swimming lessons throughout the year.
Sports in the curriculum include swimming, football, netball, tag rugby, tennis, rounders, gymnastics, athletics and cricket. In addition children have the opportunity to take part in cross-country, dance, hockey and circuit training. The lessons are individually tailored to the abilities of the children from Nursery through to Year 6 pupils, thus giving the children the maximum opportunity to achieve their personal goals.
There are three different sports day, The Early Years and KS1 events take place and the school whilst all children from Prep 3 upwards go to the UEA’s Sportspark for their event. Lunch time and after school sports clubs are well organised and popular. Pupils are encouraged to join outside clubs when appropriate.
We are a member of the Norwich Schools’ Sports Partnership and have achieved great success in High Fives Netball, Tag Rugby, Tri-Golf, Indoor Athletics and Cross Country. We also compete with other independent schools in swimming galas and cross country meets.
