Minibeasts Nursery at Notre Dame Prep School
Our Minibeasts nursery welcomes girls and boys from the age of 2 until they reach school age and offers a nurturing environment with inspiring and dedicated teachers and early years practitioners.
In keeping with the statutory framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), our nursery curriculum involves adult and child-led activities, with emphasis on communication, language, physical and emotional development. Our nursery children foster the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to move easily into Pre Prep at age 4. We are the ideal choice for those looking for a seamless educational path from nursery to Prep 6.
From the outset, children and families are fully integrated into the life of our school community. We recognise that Nursery becomes an extension of home life and we work in close partnership with parents, taking the time to get to know each of the children and their needs.
Minibeasts accepts funding for 3 year olds. Wraparound care is available from 8am-5.30pm at a small extra cost.
The Nursery Day
At NDPS Minibeasts, we offer a supportive, kind and academically enriching environment.
Our EYFS curriculum aims to promote curiosity, interaction, independence and, most importantly, a love of learning. In preparation for starting school, the children develop key skills along with knowledge and an understanding of the world around them through purposeful activities both inside and outside and take full advantage of our garden and woodland area.
Our dedicated outside area for EYFS offers access to the natural environment, with excellent tools and resources for development and play. These include areas for digging, discovery, planting and growing.
Healthy Eating
Our lunches are cooked on site by our dedicated kitchen team and includes a varied menu with the ability to cater for specific dietary requirements.
We provide a mid-morning healthy snack and children are offered a selection of fruits, vegetables, breadsticks and crackers.
During meals and snack times, we discuss the importance of healthy eating whilst encouraging children to use appropriate table manners.
